Wondering how much snow your roof can take?
Most homes are designed to hold 2 or 3 feet of snow, which means the structure is in danger of collapse when the snow level reaches 4 or 5 feet. It is important not only to keep track of the snow fall levels, but also the drift sizes. If your roof is nearing the 4 foot level it might be a good preventative measure to remove snow. There are many roofing contractors that are experienced in snow removal. Not all structures are created equally, check with a local roofing contractor or civil engineer to find out about your roof.
